In April 2016, ahead of the Menstrual Hygiene Day, Girls Excel launched a social media campaign to raise 500 packets of sanitary pads as part of our commitment to creating access to sanitary pads and feminine hygiene products for girls in rural communities in Cameroon. The campaign was successful and on the 27th of May 2016, Girls Excel carryout a community outreach program with girls in Mabeta Fishing Station, distributing over 500 packets of sanitary pads and producing menstrual health education with some 50 girls at the government Secondary school, Mabeta, Limbe.  Since its inception in 2016, the project has been extended to girls in Tole  community (South West region of Cameroon and Ndu  community (North West region of Cameroon).

In each community, we ensure that beneficiaries of this project  receive OUR HYGIENE KITS which contains at least 6-month worth of sanitary pads, cotton underwear and health education guide. Through our “Donate A Pad & Keep a Girl in School”, we have distributed Over 1,600 packets of disposable sanitary pads and 150 packets of washable sanitary pads and 100 menstrual bracelets for  girls in Mabeta, Tole and Ndu communities.
