About Girls Excel

Girls Excel is a non-profit Organisation legalized and operating with headquarters in Limbe, Cameroon. We are a social impact organization that promotes access to reproductive health education for adolescent girls and young women in Cameroon. Girls Excel is looking for a competent Project & Communication Assistant to support Girls Excels projects in different communities across Cameroon.

The ideal candidate should be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of support tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person should be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director, and the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Project & Communication Assistant will be responsible for the provision of reliable administrative coordination of programme/project planning and preparation of activities and general office support services. In particular, the Project & Communication Assistant will be responsible for the following duties

Assists in the coordination of programme/project planning and preparation work for Girls Excel and in particular the project that he/she would be assigned to.
Compiles, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on the project and related topics or issues. Maintains files (both paper and electronic).
Reviews project documents, especially cost plans/budgets, for completeness and compliance with relevant rules and procedures prior to submission for final approval and signature; identifies inconsistencies; distributes project documents to relevant parties upon approval.
Maintains calendar/schedules; monitors changes and communicates relevant information to appropriate staff inside and outside the immediate work unit.
Serves as focal point for administrative coordination of programme/project implementation activities, involving extensive liaison with partners and other field staff to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, e.g. travel arrangements, training, procurement of equipment and services, etc.
Monitors processes and schedules related the project’s outputs, products, tasks, etc.; where applicable, assists in the verification of receipt and accuracy of requisite documents, approvals, signatures, etc. to ensure compliance with relevant legal, financial and other requirements.

Requirements

· Previous experience as a Project assistant, Communication Assistant, or any other relevant role

· Highly motivated and ability to prioritize efficiently.

· Excellent customer care skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft office programs

· Holder of at least a Bachelors Degree in Women & Gender Studies, Communications, project management, or a professional certificate in a relevant field

· Professionalism, great planning and organisation skills, team spirit, passionate about girls and women’s rights, accountability and ability to take initiative etc.
